Textiles Off-Campus Programs (TOP) Degree Programs
The goal of the Textiles Off-Campus Programs (TOP) is to create classes that are attractive to a rapidly changing industry and to audiences outside of “traditional textiles”. TOP is designed to deliver continuing education courses to the student through a variety of mediums. Recent textile BS graduates may continue their education through the TOP Master of Science or Master of Textiles degree. The stay-at-home parent can take courses to rejoin the workforce or start their own home business. Textile employees, from top management to the production floor employee with busy schedules, can continue their education to enhance their careers. The wide variety of delivery methods allows the student the flexibility to view courses in the office, on the production floor, at home or on the road.
Degree Programs
Textiles Off-campus Programs (TOP) offers two master degrees that can be obtained entirely via distance education: the Master of Textiles or the Master of Science (Option B) in Textile Chemistry. There is no thesis or foreign language requirements.
These degree programs are particularly attractive to those who have an undergraduate degree along with some professional experience. Students can choose a program that complements their undergraduate training or one that encompasses future professional objectives.
Students completing the Master of Textiles will find productive careers in the textile supply chain, in research laboratories, in government agencies and in higher education. Graduates with a Master of Science in Textile Chemistry find employment in textile, chemical, and retail industries as well as in environmental and medical science. The degree also provides a firm foundation for further graduate studies.
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Textiles, or in any other related area, may apply to the Master's program.
